The loving Himalayan cat can be both a peaceful friend and an energetic playmate. They are generally friendly to everyone. The Himalayan cat is a medium sized cat; the bones are strong and appear larger than they are due to their fluffy fur. This breed is different as appearance. In the mid-1950's the Himalayan was officially registered. The first champion chosen and known by the ACFA organization was Goforth's cat Laforma in America. Recently, the American registrars have considered that the Himalayan and Iranian breeds are the same. The names of these registers are Iran-Himalayan, Himalayan-Iran or just Himalayan. In Britain, this breed is called as Colorpoint Longhair.
