American Staffordshire Terrier

American Staffordshire Terrier is a loyal, durable and powerful dog. Durability is very high and makes good guard duty. American Staffordshire Terriers are strong and agile dogs. Stubborn and fearless, but they are very polite and docile towards their family. American Staffordshire Terriers have large, pointed ears that can be trimmed, a wide head, wide cheeks, short back and tail, and large, straight front legs. They are short but fairly sturdy, muscular and powerful dogs. American Staffordshire Terriers have incisors like scissors and round eyes. Unlike the American Pit Bull Terrier, the American Staffordshire Terrier does not have Dudley (red) nose skin. The American Staffordshire Terrier has a wider bone structure and head and is usually shorter.

American Staffordshire Terrier Training

It should be taught that the American Staffordshire Terriers should not pull the leash as they are very strong when fully grown. Much can be taught if proper training is given. It is important to socialize in the age of puberty. The American Staffordshire Terriers are obedient and very much willing to please their owners. Be patient, courteous and determined in the training process.

American Staffordshire Terriers have short, shiny and hard feathers. They may be of any color, but red and beige markings (lines) are preferred, though they are usually white marks (lines). The American Staffordshire Terrier has to do a few exercise activities. They enjoy running behind of a bicycle or catching the ball, frisbee. They also enjoy bringing back the objects that are thrown. American Staffordshire Terriers can live in an apartment if adequate care and exercise is done.
