Australian Cattle Dog

If they get enough socialization while they are babies, Australian Cattle can be an ideal companion for children and dogs. They are always careful about strangers. If training is given, they can be good guard dogs. With a distinctive image and strong muscles that are the effect of the dingo race, they are strong and powerful lines . Australian Cattles have wide head, dark brown, oval eyes; small, pointed ears and teeth like scissors. They usually get taller than their tails.

Australian Cattle Dog Feather

The outer layer of hair is air resistant; short and a bit hard. The inner layer is short and thick. They may be black or blue speckled. When they are born, they are white, but over the time they get dark. They shed once or twice a year.

Australian Cattle Dog Origin

Australian Cattle Dog (also known as Queensland Heeler, Blue Heeler, Red Heeler, or Hall's Heeler) is of Australian origin. In 1840, a man named Thomas Hall hybridized the dingo genre with Smooth Highland Collies to get the Hall's Heelers breed. In 1870, the same process was carried out with the Bull Terrier, resulting in a more aggressive breed. It is aimed to be strong enough to accompany horses by crossbreeding with Dalmatians. Australian Cattle Dog, the ability to cope with the herd is highly developed and has earned a reputation in Australia. It was later imported to America and recognized in 1980 by the American Kennel Club. An Australian Cattle named Bluey lived between 1910 and 1939, and entered to Gines Records Book as the longest canin life record.
