Weimaraner Origin

This breed is also known as Weimaraner Vorstehund, Weim, Silver or Gray Ghost. They appeared in Germany in 1800's. They are breeded to obtain a good-looking dog breed, which can be used to hunt in any kind of livings. Bloodhound, Mastiff are some of the breeds used when they are obtained. It is not known where the gray color comes from, but this gray Weimaraner is available for centuries. The name was taken from someone named Weimaraner who sponsored feeding this breed. Feeding and raising were prohibited for years, the permission to have this breed had only been granted to the higher rank members of the German Weimaraner Club. So the dogs who were fed were always imprisoned in the home, which caused the dog to grow up in an overly connected structure. These habits have come up daily. In 1929, a pair of Weimaraner breeds were finally brought and became very popular. In 1943 they were registered by the American Kennel Club. The best known examples are the dog of the Heidi cartoon and the dogs of the photographer William Wegman named Man Ray and Fay Ray, both of which are included in the photos of the photographer.
